Service details

Dark fibre and ultra-high bandwidth solutions

FibreSpan is a national telecommunications company licensed by the DTI and regulated by Ofcom, providing a reliable, cost-effective, scalable and future-proof way to connect multiple sites across organisations.

Every network is bespoke to the customer’s needs and designed to deliver unparalleled performance – providing exclusively dedicated dark fibre and ultra-high bandwidth point-to-point or multi-point network configurations to connect two or more locations within towns, cities or other metropolitan regions. Specialist network experts advise customers on the best solution and work with them to design connectivity in order to meet individual diversity, performance and financial requirements.

Our dark fibre solution provides virtually unlimited bandwidth at a fixed price, which means costs remain the same as capacity requirements increase. We also provide managed services with flexible Ethernet options, from 1Gbit/sec to 10Gbit/sec. The customer pays an installation fee and the network is leased for a fixed price over the term of the contract, helping the customer to keep costs under control whilst being able to easily manage bandwidth growth.

Service options enable customers to access the bandwidth and resilience needed to deploy powerful voice, data and converged applications to the desktop without any restrictions.

  • Bespoke, dedicated, private high speed fibre networks
  • High quality, high bandwidth connectivity between sites
  • Advanced network enabling reliable voice, data and video applications
  • Rapid installation at a lower cost than traditional methods
  • Fixed annual fees that remain constant regardless of bandwidth
  • Affordable high bandwidth alternative to leased lines
  • Unlimited bandwidth, flexibility and scalability
  • Complete control over own network connection
  • No limit on the type and number of services run over the network
  • Freedom to control transmission speed over the network

Fibre Options

  • Single mode - up to 96 core - most commonly used for metro networks.
  • Multimode - up to 72 core - for shorter point-to-point connections although distance/bandwidth restrictions apply.
  • Both Single and Multimode can be deployed together.
  • Network Architecture

FibreSpan Networks can be deployed in a ring configuration providing resilience. Point-to-Point connectivity can also be accommodated, often using wireless as backup. Network Breakout and Building Connection

  • FibreSpan access chambers are laid at regular intervals during construction.
  • Breakout from enclosure for new network connections.

Network Interfacing

  • Industry standard interfacing to core/backbone networks using FibreSpan Interface Kits.

Services

  • Consultation. Pre and post sales consultation to assist in ensuring that solutions need short, medium and long-term network and bandwidth requirements.
  • Planning. Complete network design, full site survey and liaison with local authorities and landlords.
  • Deployment. Rapid, unobtrusive and discreet installation of an ‘all fibre’ network using advanced installation techniques.
  • Support. All networks are fully maintained and supported throughout the term of the contract, with engineers on-call around the clock.

Customers pay an installation fee and an all-inclusive fixed annual fee for network connectivity, complete with comprehensive maintenance.
