Telecom Networks Offers Streamlined and Efficient Route to Procurement

Buying Solutions has expanded the range of telecoms and products available through its Telecom Networks offering available to customers, addressing a broad range of the total public sector telecoms market.

Telecom Networks offers a streamlined and efficient route for customers to procure commoditised telecommunications services and hardware from a comprehensive and competitive choice of suppliers - including SMEs.  In many cases specialist suppliers will be able to deal directly with customers rather than going through third party prime contractors, providing customers with significant savings.

The offerings under TN fall into four groups:

  • Voice calls and line rentals including PSTN access, Centrex services as well as the Enhanced Government Telephony Preference Service (EGTPS)
  • Network infrastructure including leased lines and virtual private networks (VPNs), broadband and ISP services, wireless networks, dark fibre,
  • Hardware including LAN, WAN and voice hardware. 
  • Services associated with customers' own assets and infrastructure including 3rd party maintenance and billing audit.   

The Telecoms Networks lots and suppliers are:

  • Voice Calls and Lines - for customers requiring commodity voice call packages, line rentals and voice services.
  • Point-to-point Circuits - for customers requiring specific circuits.
  • Infrastructure and Connectivity - for customers building their network from specific, identified connectivity requirements.
  • Dark Fibre - Introduced to meet a growing market for unlimited high-bandwidth connectivity.
  • Connectivity to the Kerb - for customers requiring copper and fibre supply to specific roadside or other non-premises-based locations.
  • Wireless Data Infrastructure - including but not limited to licensed/unlicensed WI-FI, Hotspot, Community Broadband Wi-max, Satellite Broadband, Mobile/Personal Wireless DSL providing a wide range of wireless-based data infrastructure.
  • Networking Equipment - including but not limited to LAN/WAN routers & switches, PBX, Telephony switches and handsets and associated software.
  • ISP Services - for customers with Broadband access and Internet service provision requirements.
  • EGTPS - Enhanced Government Telephony Preference Service.
  • Structured Cabling - for customers with data cabling and Local Area Networks requirements.
  • 3rd-Party Maintenance - focused on Telecom infrastructure and products only.
  • Network Analysis and Billing Audit Services - for customers with requirements for independent commercial and logistical audits of telecoms networks and usage.
