Framework Description:
The Software for Educational Institutions Framework provides a vehicle for educational institutions throughout the UK to procure a wide range of software and related services including:

- - Office Productivity, Misc. Application and Database
- - Design, Development and Testing Tools
- - Network Software, Security and Maintenance
- - Utilities, Data storage and Management
- - ERP and Management Information Software
Services offered by suppliers in support include:
- - Software Sourcing
- - Purchasing Advice
- - Post Sales Technical Support
- - Training
- - Licence Management
The framework is a joint offering between Buying Solutions and BECTA. It replaces the previous Becta software licensing Framework, which expired in October 2010.
Potential customers eligible to use the Framework include individual educational institutions (including some in the post-16 sector), local education partnerships, local authorities and central government departments.
