Important notice

The RM450 framework agreement for ‘The provision of Photocopiers & Multifunctional Products & Services, Print Room & Managed Services’  has now been extended for a period of two years.  The  new expiry date is 29th February 2012.

As part of its commitment to savings and sustainable procurement, Buying Solutions now offer framework agreements that enable public sector customers to access suppliers offering a broad range of Multifunctional Devices.

Why use the MFD framework agreement?

The digitalization of reprographics technology over recent years has lead to the convergence of equipment. The most significant product that evolved from this phase of technical development is the MFD, which allows organisations to create, manage and distribute documents from one space efficient device. The agreement, put together by Buying Solutions and buyers from other government departments was launched in 2004, refreshed in March 2008 and extended for an initial two year period, with an option to extend for a further two years and has now been running for four years. They are a superb example of how strategic partnerships amongst public sector procurement professionals can produce tangible improvements in service quality - and huge savings for the public purse.

Designed specifically to meet the needs of public sector customers, the framework agreement allows requirements to be called off quickly and offers a broad range of suppliers and services. Suppliers on our framework agreement have been selected through a rigorous tendering process, compliant with OJEU regulations.

Some key features of the revised framework agreement include:

  • Expanded range of products and services available
  • More suppliers with improved defined account management
  • All devices utilised within a managed service provision where required
  • Software enabling product management e.g. Remote diagnostics
  • Maintenance and support, including training (on and off-site)
  • Finance options offering the customer flexibility relating to the payment configuration, including lease, rental offerings, asset management, cost per print and total volume plans
  • MFDs can be networked, facilitating scanning and faxing directly to email, which not only improves document flow systems, but also reduces paper usage
  • High quality standards are maintained through the specification of named suppliers

Our original framework agreement was hugely successful and the new arrangement has been designed to build on this strong foundation, making the purchasing and implementation of MFD's even simpler and more cost effective.

The revised MFD framework agreement offers a much wider range of products and services, encompassing all the latest technology in this arena with a product portfolio spanning mono and colour MFD's, digital copiers, mono and colour network printers and print room machines, all with standard network interfaces. Furthermore, there are even more suppliers with better defined account management requirements within the standard terms and conditions to ensure supplier performance is both maintained and improved through this new arrangement.
