Vehicle Purchase framework agreement update
Purpose
The purpose of this communication is to update customers on the current vehicle purchase procurement process.
Current position
- The Vehicle Purchase framework agreement transferred to Buying Solutions on 1 December 2009 from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP)
- The framework agreement covers vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes
- Due to expire on 3 December 2010
- Work has begun on the next generation framework agreement
Next steps and strategy
Work is underway to:
- Create a collaborative stakeholder group
- Support lease requirements
- Simplify the sign up process
- Support customers to meet the latest sustainability requirements
- Increase the scope of vehicles
- Improve the sourcing options at further competition
Timescales
- It is expected that the new framework agreement will be available by December 2010

Vehicle Lease framework agreement update
Purpose
The purpose of this communication is to update customers on the current vehicle lease procurement process.
Current position
- The Vehicle Lease framework agreement migrated to Buying Solutions on 1 October 2009 from the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (NHS PASA)
- The framework agreement covers cars and car derived vans
- Due to expire on 31 August 2010, but may be extended to allow for the implementation of a new framework agreement
Next steps and strategy
Work is under way to:
- Formulate a collaborative stakeholder group
- Enhance the existing lease car website, including improved information for users
- Simplify the sign up process for the vehicle lease and vehicle purchase framework agreements
- Support customers to meet the latest sustainability requirements
- Increase the scope of vehicles
- Improve the sourcing options at further competition
Timescales
- It is expected that the new framework agreement will be available November/December 2010
