Electricity

electricityfinal.jpgElectricity Supply on a Large Scale

Government Procurement Service agreements for the supply of electricity cover the two distinct forms of supply – those that are metered and charged for on a half hourly (HH) basis and those that are non-half hourly(NHH).

Through our HH framework, we currently supply more than 6.6 terawatt hours of electricity per year. To put this into context, this is more than the total annual consumption of Luxembourg.

Customers who can benefit from our HH electricity supply framework are typically large sites, such as office blocks, arenas, museums, that use over 100 kilowatt hours. Our HH electricity supply service means that meters are remotely read every half hour.

The framework provider is EDF Energy and Scottish and Southern Energy for existing PASA customers.

The NHH electricity framework delivers a managed solution to the public sector’s users. At present 1,7TWh of energy is supplied through this framework.

The main focus of the NHH supplier is to provide an account managed solution to an area of the energy industry that can be difficult to manage due to restrictions on time and the high level of data involved.

The framework provider is British Gas Business and Scottish and Southern Energy for existing PASA customers

Annual supply periods start in April and October each year.

Government Procurement Service manages all energy frameworks against a set service standard. Each customer has a named contact within the energy team, with additional team members providing support during the contract year. Electricity suppliers also have dedicated customer support teams, who ensure all our customers receive the best possible service.

Electricity suppliers are also required to provide a portion of our energy from renewable sources and good quality combined heat and power (GQCHP). For more information, see the Sustainability section.
