Flexible Access to Power

Our gas supply framework agreements give all public sector organisations the opportunity to access an EU compliant, flexibly procured power framework for the gas market.

There are two contract options for each:

Locked:

With a locked price product, the complete annual supply for all customers in the basket is flexibly purchased in advance of the delivery period. Our customers are then given a fixed price for the annual supply. The locked product is particularly helpful for those customers requiring budget certainty. Locked products are offered in both April and October.

Variable:

The variable price product means that only part of the annual supply for all customers in the basket is flexibly purchased in advance of the delivery period. The remainder is flexibly purchased during the delivery period, with a final reconciliation at the end. Variable products are offered in April only.

In response to customer requests and facilitated through the let of new frameworks for electricity and gas, Government Procurement Service is now offering a flexible three year risk product. Initially this product will cover Half Hourly metered electricity (HH), Unmetered Street-lighting (UMS) and Gas. The electricity will be supplied under the existing framework agreement with Corona.

To offer customers maximum flexibility, the three year product will operate as three concurrently purchased individual contract years that are risk-managed with the choice of either an April or October contract year start. Customers will have the flexibility to join each contract year on three separate opportunities. This will allow customers complete freedom of choice about whether they want a one, two or three year forward purchase product.

Customers with an April contract start will be offered the choice of either a locked or variable product. However for October contracts start customers will only be offered the choice of the locked product.
