Smooth Integration with NHS PASA
In October 2009 Government Procurement Service and a number of categories within the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (PASA) merged. There is no change to the existing provision of services for energy purchasing.
Government Procurement Service and Health trading teams were already working closely under the pan-government energy project (see What We Do/Procurement) and quickly began operating as a single team.
For existing Health customers, there is an option to further call off with current framework suppliers (Scottish and Southern Energy and Total Gas and Power Ltd) until April 2012 for continuation of existing services. Alternatively, customers can join the Government Procurement Service portfolio supplier frameworks.
The purchasing strategies are aligned and provide both a locked (fixed prior to delivery, but not on a single day) and variable (flexible strategy where energy is purchased within the contract period) option.
