eAuction programme
Our eAuction programme has been specifically designed to address the Government’s requirements for the centralised procurement of commoditised goods and services.
It will help you deliver real savings using a well proven procurement technique based on secure internet-based technology, which will deliver cashable cost reductions quickly, whilst protecting quality and service levels.
eAuctions are an ideal procurement route where the aggregation of volumes can affect market prices and greatly reduce the purchase price for buyers.
Our programme is fully managed and funded by Government Procurement Service, with a dedicated and experienced eAuction delivery team and expert category advice and guidance to help you along the way.
Changes to the eAuction programme
The approach that we’ve adopted in the past has been to provisionally schedule eAuctions in various categories and publish this schedule as a calendar of events.
Although this has delivered over £33.6m of savings for over 160 organisations in the last financial year, our customers have told us that operating a more flexible programme should deliver even more benefits.
In response to this, whilst we will still have a programme of regular eAuctions in some categories, we will not be publishing a calendar of events for the year ahead. Instead, we want to retain the flexibility to respond to the specific needs of our customers.
With this in mind, we encourage you to contact us and let us know what your specific needs are so that we can work together to identify opportunities for your organisation to get involved and make savings.
This will ensure our programme meets your needs and that we understand your requirements and timescales and can plan and deliver eAuctions accordingly.

On 12th October Government Procurement Service successfully ran its first eAuction best practice workshop. This brought together 20 organisations across central government, local authorities, NHS trusts and charities. The purpose of the workshop was for those attending to learn more about the programme and to provide an opportunity for them to meet the team and discuss how they can take advantage of this exciting offering.
