Why have these changes been made?

The transfer of these categories to Buying Solutions results from the publication, in May 2009, of the new Commercial Operating Model by the Department of Health (DH) Necessity - not nicety. An element of this described how the work of NHS PASA would be reviewed with the aim of distributing its functions to other parts of the DH family and other organisations.

These changes will continue to deliver maximum value to customers in the NHS and across the wider public sector for the future. Current NHS PASA's framework agreements in the seven categories will remain in place at Buying Solutions ensuring continuity of service. Terms and conditions for suppliers will not change for current framework agreements.
