GSi Communities
GSi Customers must comply with the Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework appropriately for their GSi community, as further laid out in the relevant GSi Code of Connection.
The GSi supports five communities at up to and including three confidentiality Impact Levels:
Impact Level 2 (PROTECT) Impact Level 3 (RESTRICTEDImpact Level 4 (CONFIDENTIAL)
Service availability at customer premises depends upon the resilient connection option ordered.
The five constituent GSi Communities;
GSi GCSX CommunityThis newest community is for public organisations that occasionally need to securely receive, store and process information at protective marking of confidentiality Impact Level 3. These are mainly English or Welsh Local Authorities.
GSi GSX CommunityThis community is also for public organisations that occasionally need to securely receive, store and process information at protective marking of confidentiality Impact Level 3. Scottish local authorities, UK executive agencies and non departmental public bodies are GSX members.
GSi GSI CommunityThis oldest community is for public organisations that need to regularly communicate with each other or otherwise share information up to and at confidentiality impact level 3 (RESTRICTED). This GSi GSI community includes the majority of United Kingdom government departments.
GSi xGSI CommunityThe GSi xGSI community is for public organisations that need to regularly communicate with each other or otherwise share information at confidentiality impact level 4 (CONFIDENTIAL). The GSi xGSI Community is only available to United Kingdom government customers.
GSi GSE CommunityThe GSi GSE Community is for sponsored private sector organisations that public organisations need to securely communicate with at either confidentiality Impact Level 2 or Impact Level 3.
The GSE enables companies to provide services to public sector customers, joint projects, and necessary sharing of sensitive information. This community does not include Internet Access.
