Medical Locums

The national framework agreement for the supply of medical locums (excluding locum GPs) commenced on 1 July 2008 for a period of three years but was extended for a further 12 months, therefore customers can place orders up until 30 June 2012.

The framework agreement is available for use by the NHS and other public bodies throughout England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

This framework agreement uses a national set of terms and conditions of contract and has been awarded on a national basis.

It provides for the supply of locum doctors of all grades and specialties, as per the following Locum doctor grades: - Consultant, Associate Specialist, Staff Grade ST4, SpR, ST3 (formally SpR), Clinical Assistant, Hospital Practitioner, ST2, ST1, SHO, FY2 (formally SHO), PrHO, FY1 (formally PrHO).

Specialties

Accident & Emergency, Anaesthetics, Dental, General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Psychiatry, Radiology and Surgical.

The framework agreement has a transparent contract pricing mechanism and allows for NHS trusts and other public bodies to realise efficiency savings through negotiating service level agreements and benefiting from additional discounts for volume of business agreed and supplier exclusivity with the appointed framework agencies.
